Lafayette Holi Festival

Lafayette Holi, hosted annually by the Acadiana Indian Association at Girard Park, brings the vibrant Festival of Colors to the heart of Louisiana. This cherished tradition, held on the last Saturday of March since 2011, welcomes everyone to partake in a day filled with live music, dancing, drum performances, colorful exchanges, and mouthwatering Indian cuisine. Rooted in Hindu mythology, Holi signifies the arrival of spring and the victory of good over evil, embodying a spirit of unity and celebration. Participants joyously splash each other with brilliant colors, symbolizing various meanings such as the warmth of yellow, the passion of red, and the ambition of orange, fostering a sense of togetherness and festivity within the Lafayette community.
